FALL ROADSIDE CLEANUP

We are holding our next roadside cleanup next Saturday from 9 to 12 starting at the Buckhorn Community Centre and we need many hands to make clean work!  Maybe you have noticed the signage recognizing the work our volunteers are doing!?

FALL MEETING

Our next meeting is n Nov. 16th at the BCC.   One speaker will be a representative from Community Care who will speak to the services which are available to not only to seniors but victims of accident etc.  Another speaker will be a representative from the new Signature Site park.  This new park is a gift to our grandchildren as it will for all time offer a quiet place in our community.

SPRING ROAD CLEAN-UP A SUCCESS!

On May 9th, the newly formed Buckhorn Rate Payers took on the task of doing a road side trash pick-up in the village and surrounding area.  This was a large undertaking by over 16 members who combed the road side and ditches along Lakehurst Road from the traffic lights through to Lakehurst Circle, north and south on Buckhorn Road from the traffic lights, 1 km each way to Buckhorn Garage and Adam and Eve Road for a total of 8 km.  This was a great effort performed by volunteers who collected more than 30 large bags of garbage and trash with more work to come the week of the 11th.

The county supplied gloves, garbage bags, safety vests and a garbage dump pass so the garbage collected could be properly disposed of in the landfill.  So, hats off to all who participated.  It was a job well done!  Further planned events will take place this summer and fall.  Be sure to check back regularly for updates and announcements.
